Andhra Pulusu is a popular Telugu dish that’s both flavorful and easy to make. This recipe is a traditional version, with a hint of spices and tanginess from the tamarind.

పదార్థాలు:

  • 1 cup టింగి (Tingi) dal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup తెంగుకోడు (Tengukodu) – tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoons నేర్జి (Neerji) oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon పెండాలము (Pendalamu) – cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

తయారీ విధానం:

  1. ఒక చిన్న పాత్రలో, 1/2 cup టింగి dal, 1 cup water, and 1 tablespoon నేర్జి oil to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon నేర్జి oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Add the పెండాలము, salt to taste, and 2 tablespoons తెంగుకోడు. Mix well.
  5. Add this mixture to the dal and stir well.
  6. Simmer for another 10 minutes or until the flavors have melded together.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve.
